We’re a group of musicians from Shofar congregations around South Africa and our desire is to see people set free to passionately worship God. Wherever God’s Spirit is, there’s freedom, and we long to see the nations encounter the freedom that His presence brings…
We released our first CD, a live worship album called Victorious One, in 2011, followed in 2012 by an Afrikaans album, Ons Sal Sing. Since then God has birthed many more songs in our songwriters’ hearts, so it wasn’t long before we were in studio again. We live in a world motivated by fear and the title track of the new album, We Won’t Be Afraid, is a call to live by faith, knowing that God is with us and for us. The central focus of the album is the supremacy and all-sufficiency of Christ, the King of glory and our desire is for true worship to be stirred in the hearts of those who hear each of these songs.
We’ve had the privilege of working with some incredibly gifted international musicians on the album, including drummer Paul Mabury (Chris Tomlin, All Sons & Daughters), and bassist Daniel Ornellas (Tree63, Brenton Brown) who co-produced the album. The album was released in April 2014 and is available on this website and on iTunes.
